Days In Emirate Suites Life on Hold...What Next?

Day 1,2,3 @Hotel Emirate Suites

No-30/31, 2nd Cross,
Bhuvanappa Layout,
Tavarakare Main Road,
Opp Forum Mall Bangalore India.

The day slowly sunk into the throes of reality ,as Me and Rachana were awakened to the fact that ,the family that we thought was mine ,did not want us there .After the whole drama that My brother’s wife put up ,my brother called me and requested that we pack and come to his shop in Koramangala ,I did not want to put Rachana in anymore emotional turmoil as she was pregnant.

We packed up and cabbed up a Uber all we had was less than a 100 bucks in our combined wallet’s ,yet we were utterly confident ,about being there for each other, come what may we did know that we are bonded for eternity ,for what holds us together was not a Human emotion but the overly lived cause of wanting a change, more than changing someone else ,it was a change we wanted to bring in our selves.

By the time we reached there My brother put up a farce of trying to show his superiority again by taking us to lunch ,where he was playing a sympathy card all the while saying that he did try to warn us about his wife before we came to bangalore. But did he not have that minimum courtesy to intimate us that his wife already has put up a case mentioning that no relatives were to come his place,I think he was ashamed of that one fact that he was portraying a pseudo image that his wife is picture perfect to the small world of Dutta's and all our relatives ,He led all the people to believe that he was the one that took the responsibility of Dad ,and that he was the good sheep in the family ,But why paint me black was my question .So once we finished the lunch he spent another hour to preach us on the importance of green paper and my inner conflict was will the preaching ever end.I was sodden with grime of the dirtying thoughts that he held against me,the more I sat there ,I felt like I was getting grimier with cynicism.

Finally arrived the moment when he called up the Hotel Emirates Suites and informed them that he did want us to have a room at his expense and we were in a fix for we were penniless by then ,He insisted that we should not order anything from the room service for they will take it wrong .I did not have a clue on what his was pointing to ,I let this information into a small compartment of my brain ,and we did move in .Day 1 passed there without a hitch or a call from my brother ,we did work up a few hours on the translations of Both Mana Shruti's translations ,While Rachana finished up with Mr Govindaraj's Saheli App.

Simple to Look Yet heavy on the Wallet ,

A Small room which brought us more close ,but was the
Food really worth it as they were evading GST

The Day dawned with a small hope that we will be getting a bit of what had to come to us ,we were not worried ,as we had a roof over the head where I could keep Rachana safe ,but I had this small kick in my brain ,where I had compartmentalized the info about not ordering up the food service, this is where my instinct kicked in where I did want to make a point to the masses.I did want to go with an experiment ,that is to show how well a costly living can get a person's wallet to shrink without his notice .Usually I and Rachana do have a chai for six bucks at a road side thela (A small tea shop ) ,or at the maxed out rate of 10 bucks ,but a room service at Emirates costs 25 bucks and the quality of tea that was coming in was close to almost diluted pee ,The same was with a cup of coffee ,and more to go with any food we did order here ,every day we did order up close to a thousand bucks ,the Hotel was not sending in proper bill but hand written token bills ,which will never be updated into the system .or the money collected will never be shown to a audit person .What happened to all these food bills and where do these amounts end up?

I dug up a little about this where the money ends up and soon found a small breadcrumbed trail where the money flows into ,the food industry is an unorganized sector where most transactions are made in cash,Even after the initiation by the government to clean this sector up many stick to the old norms of sliding cash ,but the cash that flows in this Hotel alone is more than Rupees two lakhs a day so in a consecutive month more than Rupees sixty lakhs moves in cash transactions ,that are never brought under the government Radar or as there are never proper bills and people never do ask why the  whole lot of money flows in unaccounted .Just think on a bigger scale how much a three star Hotel earns under the scanner every financial year .Is this what we do being an Indian ,to ignore this kind of scam that is simple before the eyes but never given the thought .

Restaurants will be required to charge 5% GST and 0% PST on food sales as opposed to the 12% HST. All alcoholic sales must be charged at 5% GST and 10% PST instead of 12% HST. POS systems should be updated with the correct tax information.

The confusion among masses regarding different GST rates for various products and services is making people easily befooled by hoteliers and restaurants. There is a large number of eateries that are not GST registered but charge people taxes in the name of GST.

However, you can identify the fraudsters with a slight background information on different GST rates for different products.

How to identify GST fraud at Hotels and Restaurants:

To know whether your dealer is registered for GST or not, you can check the GST number, a 15 digit number that is printed on the bill. Some restaurants even print a fake number to manipulate the customer. Now, this number can be verified through the website of Goods and Service Tax. If it is fake, you can make a complaint.

How a GST number look like:

The sixth character of GST number is either ‘P’ or a ‘C’, where P stands for people (individual business) and C stand for a company.

How much should be the GST charge:

1. Non AC/ non-alcohol serving restaurant or hotels should charge 12% GST
2. AC/ alcohol-serving restaurants or hotels should charge 18% GST
3. For takeaways, the GST should be 18%

Note: These are current GST rates, government can revise the tax rate from 18% to 12%, so be informed.

How to register a complaint about GST fraud:

a) Register your complaint on http://consumerhelpline.gov.in/; or
b) Call 1800114000 or 14404 or SMS on 8130009809
c) Email – nch-ca@gov.in, consumer-helpline@gov.in
d) GST portal – helpdesk@gst.gov.in, 0120-4888999, 011-23370115
e) Twitter handles- @jagograhakjago @consaff @askGST_Goi, @FinMinIndia

So Day three my brother does pay a room rent for two days ,but not the food bill ,I was expecting this as I did want this question to be put forward to the Management of the Hotel Emirate Suite .Further My brother being a High rise roller in the Consumer Rights Committee ,we did want to bring this to his esteemed notice on what really was happening here at the hotel that he put us up .So now I ask the masses ,Is the role of him heading the PR division of the Consumer rights form a farce or is he really up to doing what he has to do .Further on I ask Hotels like Emirate Suites what do they get out of stealing the government's money ,when they earn more than Rs 60,00,000/-  per month .

As Indians I and Rachana wanted to bring this up to the Masses notice ,believing on educating them just a bit ,we did hope not to change the whole world but just to put a thought out there .So next time you do pay a bill at the Hotel or a Restaurant ,please do think what truly being an Indian means,To see a wrong and not react is also doing wrong ,when India is trying to turn over a new leaf by curbing black money. So do think are you really being Indian.
